Forthcoming thoughts

Hey everyone! Yes, I'm still alive and kicking, but terribly overworked and without time for anything but working for the man, eating (barely), sleeping (a few hours a night) and drinking tequila (not nearly enough).

What is it, you ask, that could consume a man so entirely? Well, you see, I work in field known as health care...Ahhh, there it is. The last couple of weeks have been, well, interesting.

Trust me, I do have thoughts on the big happenings of late, but I don't feel comfy writing about them at work and I wasn't kidding about the lack of time for other endeavors. Hopefully, one of these nights soon, I'll be able to scrape together a few moments (perhaps from the time allotted for sleep) and scribble down what I think of health care reform.

That said, I did stay up way too late Sunday night watching the vote in the House. Kinda like the way I stay up to watch election returns - exciting like a grass growing competition or a paint drying marathon. But still important.

Coming soon: Thoughts on the people rallying against and for health care reform, where I think it's going in the future and Texas Rep. Randy Neugebauer. Quick preview of the last: Classless liar.

For a realistic view of health-care, and the delivery of medical services in the future..............look at the VA.............but worse.

ooh, this WILL be an interesting few months indeed for you. i, for one, just hope that all this will make it easier for me to get by when i have to change my insurance situation later this year...

Joaquin - As a vet, that kind of comment is a bit offensive. The VA does the very best it can with resources that have been slashed year after year. As with anything, the only stories you hear are the ones from people who had bad experiences. How about listening to the millions of vets VA has served well and good over the years?

magnolia - If only it'll last months. I predict longer. Also, I wouldn't count on this effecting your situation. That might be a little too quick.

Alice - Once I see how it pans out for the folks I work for, I'll try to get it down on paper (so to speak). No matter what, it'll be interesting.

Not trying to be offensive.
I'm speaking first hand from friends that are VA doctors. Their comments about shortages, inadequate facilities and the inability to retain doctors are not fiction.
I also have 3 weekly golf buddies that served in VietNam with a total of 5 Purple Hearts. They all refuse to go to the VA and pay for insurance.
Again, I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just calling it as I see it.
